Vayu is a concept boutique showcasing the best of Indian crafts and designs sourced from the ateliers of skilled craftsmen and finished by contemporary designers.

Vayu is serendipitously located inside Bikaner House, near India Gate. It is the brainchild of design experts Mr Vivek Sahni. Mr Vivek an alumnus of Parsons School of Design, was already running a very successful graphic design company and an Ayurvedic beauty brand when after a lot of deliberation, he decided on opening this store.

Vayu in Sanskrit means Air and keeping the original line of thought the interiors of the store has been inspired by Badal Mahal at Junagarh Fort in Bikaner. The famous cloud covered walls in one part of the store forms it the cloud room whereas painting the other room with modest stripes in pastel blue making it the rain room.

Vayu is an effortlessly luxurious space where you can find a diverse mix of heritage pieces along with contemporary classics. From quirky jewellery, lifestyle pieces to antiques and décor items that are mixed of both new and vintage. The store houses a select few designer, as well as in-house wear for both men and women. Refurbished mid-century furniture, hand picked objets d’art add to the aesthetics of the store.

The store has been meticulously set up and the eye for detail is evident in every corner of the store. The light and airy store with colonial style windows and high ceilings makes it the perfectly curated concept store, in the middle of the bustling city.

“Luxury is not always about commodities. It can be about chancing upon a little gem in an unexpected location”, that is what Vayu- Design for Living is all about.
